Our client is looking for a registered veterinary nurse to join the team. Sadly, one of their fantastic nurses is returning to the US and they are looking for that special person to fill her shoes. Their nurses enjoy a mixed workload each day sharing in all nurse duties including the on call and weekend rotas. They prefer to provide continuity of care 24/7 for all of their patients rather than expect them to travel miles to an unknown practice. Call backs to the surgery for the nurses however, are uncommon. This position would suit a nurse who is looking to play a large and respected role within a small and very dedicated team. It would not suit a nurse who is looking to specialise in one area of nursing only. We are happy to consider a newly qualified nurse and help them find their feet. Job share could be considered if you can only work part time.
They are a very friendly small team and their nurses play a large role in the success of the practice. They are an independent family run business with care of their clients and patients at the core of what we do rather than the bottom line.
Their nurses share the weekend rota – working 1 in 3. They only have a surgery on Saturday morning and then they are on call the rest of the weekend plus caring for any hospitalised cases.
The nurse on duty this weekend for example worked until about 12.30 and then only came back for about 30-45 minutes on Sunday evening to get ready for Monday. They can be up to 30 minutes away when on call. Their vets take the phones and often do not call the nurses in as they are all very experienced and can cope.
