My client is seeking a small animal veterinary surgeon to join their busy up to date practice in Lancashire.
The full-time position will suit a candidate with some experience but who has a desire to focus on continued learning in a helpful and caring environment. The role will include some sole charge work, alongside the assistance the candidate will give to the Veterinary Surgeons’ team. General all-round medical competence is essential and surgically they would expect a candidate to be able to do all routine neutering and simple soft tissue surgery.
5 day working week, Monday to Friday, with days off during the week in lieu of any Saturdays or Sundays worked. One late night surgery (consults to 8 pm) and the remaining finishes will be between 4 pm and 7pm, with possible free time during the day. Weekends are on a seven-week rota basis with at least three clear weekends off.
Consultations are by appointment only, 15 minutes. Longer consultations can be arranged by the Veterinary Surgeon as appropriate.
Membership of BUPA, subscriptions for the Veterinary Defence Society, The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and one other Veterinary related professional body will be paid by the company. There is also an allowance for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CPD is actively encouraged and tailored individually (often a mixture of online, at home and off-site learning). The client would look to support someone who wants to focus on gaining additional certification in a discipline.
Salary negotiable, commensurate with experience and competence. We usually review after 6 months based on business performance and productivity.
