My client is looking for a new permanent small animal vet from the end of March 2020 for their small animal practice with superb nursing staff and very high standard of care. Four experienced vets are happy to provide support if required. Usual toys such as ultrasound and endoscopes. CPD funded & specialisation to certificate level encouraged. Good remuneration. Minimal weekend and on-call work.
They are a 100% companion animal first opinion practice with 5 vets. Two of the vets are part time but they always have at least 3 working on any given weekday, so there would be support for any new member of staff.
The position will have very little branch work. There is a day off per week, although they would suggest any new graduate who takes the role works 4.5 days weekly for the first year, then 4 days weekly thereafter, to gain experience faster. When another vet is on holiday we cover their absence amongs themselves so the candidate may occasionally have to work a full five day week but would be given an additional day off at the next available opportunity to compensate.
There is a small amount of out of hours and weekend work as follows:
Four Saturday mornings per year (08:30-13:00)
Three full Saturdays per year (08:30-08:30) - clinic hours are 08:30-18:00 on Saturday then on call till the next morning
Three full Sundays per year (08:30-08:30) - clinic hours are 10:00-16:00 on Sunday then on call till the next morning
Week day nights on call are one every 2 weeks
They have an excellent and caring team of largely qualified nurses, with some trainees. The candidate would always have an experienced member of nursing staff available when on call or at weekends. We would provide backup as required for new graduates.
The post is open to both new graduates and experienced vets alike - we are happy to provide support as required.
